We are happy to announce the installation of new informational signs and a WAG bag kiosk at Lime Park. This much-needed infrastructure was made possible through a collaboration between ECCC, the Access Fund, and the Forest Service. These additions aim to help reduce human impact and protect the area’s natural beauty, while encouraging climbers and visitors to follow responsible practices.
The new signs provide important guidance on how to protect Lime Park’s ecosystem, including advice on packing out all human waste using WAG bags, controlling pets to prevent disturbance to wildlife, and staying on durable surfaces to prevent erosion and trail braiding. Additionally, it's crucial to respect raptor nesting closures, especially those protecting the Peregrine Falcons that call Lime Park home. Peregrines are sensitive to human disturbance, and entering closed areas can severely impact their breeding success. Always keep a safe distance from these protected areas and check regularly for updated closure information on ECCC's website.
By following these guidelines, we can all help preserve this special area for future generations.
We’re especially grateful to the Access Fund, who provided crucial grant funding to make this project happen. Their unwavering commitment to protecting climbing areas and advocating for sustainable access is something we truly admire. This collaboration wouldn’t have been possible without their support, and we’re proud to stand with such an impactful organization.
Unfortunately, the East Road is currently closed due to significant human impacts. We encourage everyone to use the available resources responsibly and help us continue to protect these beautiful climbing areas.
