Our Family Climbing Day at the Practice Slabs in Camp Hale National Monument was once again a huge hit, with an amazing turnout from the local community! It was fantastic to see families eager to experience climbing and rappelling, making for a day full of outdoor adventure, learning, and fun. The stunning fall colors made the day even more special, providing a beautiful backdrop for the event.
We had participants of all ages, and this year saw the biggest parent involvement we've ever had. It was great to witness so many parents stepping up to try something new alongside their kids. We were thrilled to support this growth and exploration, providing guidance and ensuring everyone had a safe and memorable experience.
A heartfelt thank you to our incredible volunteers. Their dedication and commitment were absolutely essential—without them, this event simply couldn’t have happened. Roles like belayers and safety support were key in making the day safe and enjoyable for everyone. If you’re interested in joining this amazing group, we encourage you to sign up as a volunteer!
A big shout-out also goes to Adventure Travel Guides International (ATGI) for their partnership and support. They helped make the day both educational and safe. Be sure to check them out at goatgi.com!
The impact of this event goes far beyond one day. By getting families excited about climbing, we’re fostering a love for nature and outdoor recreation that will last a lifetime. We hope to see you at future events as we continue to build an inclusive and vibrant outdoor community.
Thank you again to the community, our rockstar volunteers, ATGI, and all the families who made this day unforgettable. We can’t wait to do it again next time and hope to see you there!
